Top Things You Need For Your Disney Trip [Updated 2024]

Keep your Disney trip on track with these top items

I know how hectic it can be trying to keep track of everything to pack. But I also know you won’t forget things like clothing and toiletries, so let me walk you through unconventional items that are a must-have.

30+ Disney trips later, I can say I have a firm grasp on the top things you need for your Disney trip. Let’s make your life easier.

1. A lightweight backpack is a MUST HAVE for all family trips.  Especially a Disney one.  Most of the items to come next are for the park. This WATER RESISTANT BACKPACK folds into a compact square and fits a ton of stuff.  ($15.99, available in multiple colors)

2. Florida weather is famous for its rain off rain on style.  It’s going to rain at least once or twice during your trip.  For the cost of 1 poncho at Disney purchase this pack of 10 for the entire family. ($9.49)

3.  Birnbaum is the ONLY official guide to Disney World. Even I purchase it yearly because of all of the coupons at the back.  You can easily make up for its cost and more.  In fact, I saved hundreds with this book on one vacation.  ($17.99)

4.  With the new Disney App, giving you access to ride times, and FastPass modifications, you can easily kill your phone battery.  And we haven’t even added in photos yet.  Make sure to get a high-quality power bank like this one that can CHARGE YOUR PHONE UP TO 5 TIMES or more! ($39.99)

5. I’m sure you know how important it is to have comfortable sneakers at Disney World.  But you know what’s even better?  Shoes that are comfortable but can still get wet. Perfect for those rain storms at the theme parks.  It’s great not having to walk around in wet sneakers.  My shoe of choice has to be Croc.  And don’t worry, they come in many different styles.   ($23.00-$40.00)

6. The Unofficial Guide to Disney World is worth it for it’s touring plans alone.  I haven’t waited more than 25 minutes on any line since using them. Don’t wait in long lines at Disney World.

7. Save at a hundred or two by providing yourself water at Disney World.  Each bottle of water is approximately $3.50.  Use a filtered water bottle to fill up at the water fountains or by requesting free cups of water at the parks.  Try these filtered water bottles.

8.  I’m not sure what the science behind this is, but the sun in Florida is SO strong.  I don’t actually sunburn but I still make sure to put sunscreen on as often as possible.  Make sure to bring it with you in your daypack.  Don’t let a sunburn make your kids or you cranky. ($7.57)

9. Keeping up with the sun, make sure to bring sunglasses.  Nothing is worse than a headache from squinting all day.  These are unisex, super attractive, and inexpensive. ($10.99)

10.  Bring your own pins for some serious Disney Pin Trading.  Don’t start off with the $10/each pin at the parks.  Get this starter pack with 25 Official Disney Pins. ($23.38)

I hope these items make your Disney trip exponentially easier.

I've actually never been to Disney, but I'll be sure to keep these in mind for my trip there in the near future, hopefully.

I didn't know waterproof backpacks were a thing! That's awesome, and it is super useful for Florida just like the crocs I live in mine in Florida, they are perfect for everything!
