About Destino
Destino is a 2003 animated short film that was created by Disney and was co-directed by Dominique Monfrey and French film director Dominique Monfrey. The project was originally started in 1945 by Walt Disney and Salvador Dali, but it was not completed due to differences between the two men.
In 2003, Disney’s grandson, Roy E. Disney, decided to finish the project as a tribute to his grandfather’s vision. The final result is a stunning work of art that mixes Disney’s classic animation style with Dali’s surrealist imagery.
The film tells the story of a young man who is on a journey to find his true love. Along the way, he is thwarted by obstacles such as time, space, and gravity. However, he eventually triumphs and is united with his love.
The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2004. It lost to Pixar’s Finding Nemo, but it is still considered one of the best-animated shorts ever made.
