Cheap Disney Tickets

Cheap Disney Tickets

Let’s face it. Disney Vacations are very, very expensive. Like I’m not talking about expensive fancy dinner expensive, I am talking about an expensive semester of college expensive. If you have a family of 4 or more, your vacation cost to Disney World on average may be anywhere from $8,000-$12,000 (if you purposely follow none of my tips). That is a ton of dough. You have to pay for the hotel, pay for the airfare, pay for the transportation to the hotel, pay for transportation back to the airport, pay for the food, pay for the merchandise, pay for the tips, and all the other things that go with planning a vacation.

That being said, Disney World is supposed to be the ‘happiest place on earth’ however the ‘happiest place on earth’ may seem like an understatement once you realize the big cost of the whole trip. As expensive as Disney may seem, there are ways and there are tips that can help you save big bucks on your trip; specifically, you can save by getting cheap Disney tickets!

You might be wondering just how in the world you can get your hands on cheap Disney tickets? After all, a single-day ticket is on average about $109/person. That price also does not include when you are traveling to Disney, and what season you will be going to. For example, a weekend in the peak months of December will cost more, than say, a weekday in February. If you do not have flexible dates for your trip, you may be stuck with the price you see. However, as mentioned before, you can save money by getting cheap Disney park tickets; you just have to know where to look. Getting cheap Disney tickets is sort of like exploring the deep, dark, web. You can pretty much find anything nowadays online. It may be hard, but if you really look, you will find what you are looking for.

Discounts, Discounts, Discounts…

If you meet certain criteria, chances are you can and will get a discount on Disney tickets. Are you a FL resident? Do you own DVC? Do you have AAA (if you don’t, the savings might be worth a basic membership, cost:$70). Are you apart of any other memberships that provide travel discounts? Have you used a travel agent? Any or all of these options are various ways you can receive a discount to get cheap Disney tickets.

Travel Agents, especially have ways to get you deals. In fact, they have access to stuff the common public doesn’t.  If you interested in working with a free travel agent you can request a quote here

Another great place to look for cheap Disney park tickets is by utilizing an authorized Disney ticket seller location. These are usually located in tourist areas in Central FL. Looking up, maybe take an Uber /Lyft, check it out and then buy some tickets. The prices are not going to be 50% cheaper, but, they will still be cheaper than the tickets you can get from Disney directly.

You know, speaking of annual passholders getting discounts on Disney tickets, maybe there is a chance that you know an annual passholder? If you do not know an annual passholder, perhaps you know someone who knows one. All it really takes if you are willing to do the work is just knowing someone who knows someone who knows someone. It pays to know someone and in this case, if you know just the right person, chances are they can hook you up with some discounted Disney tickets. Granted, they may not be able to provide you with a big discount, but they can at least help you out. Another thing that will be very useful is by knowing an annual passholder that you can meet up within the parks. Then, they can share their annual passholder discount for merchandise and food with you. Any way that you can say money greatly helps.

I don’t buy Disney tickets from Disney

Because I save money by not buying directly from Disney.

The only time I buy from Disney is when being a DVC member comes with an AMAZING discount (which is a very small percentage of the time).  Most times, if I am going to Disney World, I use GetAwayToday for the best Disney World ticket deals.  Including free days.

For Disneyland, I use GetAwayToday. My Disneyland planning is much different since it is across the country for me and GetAwayToday really accommodates to that.  They have adults at kids prices and free nights at many hotels.

When I use either of these and I calculate multi-day tickets for a family of 4, I easily see a $200 savings.

Sometimes, You Just Need to Keep an Eye Out

Ok, so listen up. Disney has been known to periodically release deals and savings throughout the year. Maybe they are doing a fall sale. Maybe it is a special sale for the holiday, But whatever it is, they are always doing something. They even occasionally have FREE DINING PLAN DEALS!! The thing about this though is you never know when Disney is going to release these deals. You really have to be on the lookout, have an eagle eye, and as soon as deals are released you need to act on them immediately.

If you do not act fast, chances are the deal will be sold out sooner than you think. This also brings me back to using a travel agent. Chances are most Disney travel agents have ways of knowing or able to find out just when exactly they release these kinds of deals. One thing they can also do is if you book a vacation package with them and then find out later that you can get it at any rate cheaper, they will then try to change your package to get the better deal!

Earn Free Money For Disney Tickets

There are only so many discounts on Disney World tickets out there.  The good news is that there are other, out of the box ways that you can pay less for Disney tickets.

Sometimes, when you know a tip or secret, you don’t want to share it in fear that too many people knowing, will make the secret magically go away.

Lucky enough, I don’t have that fear and am going to share with you my top two way to earn side money for Disney World.  I do Disney 4 times a year, and I couldn’t do that without these tricks.

#1 and favorite way to make side money is Swagbucks(SB).  I did an entire post on SB but the short of it is that it’s a site where you do things to earn SB that can be redeemed for cash or gift cards.  For example, you can do a survey for 50,75, 250 SB (and more), you can watch videos and earn SB, you can print coupons and earn SB. Just to sign up, you get $10.    If you want to learn more, visit my in-depth post about SB.

Ebates comes in at a close second.  Ebates allows you to earn cash back while you online shop.  All you have to do is start at the Ebates website and click on the store website through them and BAM free money.  There is also a plugin that you download so that when you’re online shopping you get reminders to get that free money.  Personally, I like the plugin because otherwise, I forget to use Ebates. The bonus right now is a free $10 (cash bonus).

Just be using the two above mention tips alone, you can get $20 by doing the minimum.  I aim for much more per year but it’s at your own pace.

Sometimes More is Indeed Less

Want to know a little insider secret? This is something Disney does not want to tell you, nor is this advertised in any way. Sometimes more is actually less.

Let me explain.

With current rates, say you have a family of 4 (2 adults, and 2 kids) and you get 6 days worth of Disney tickets. Your total cost for all of your tickets with Park Hopper would be around $1,969.82. Here is where the little secret comes in play. If you were to buy an annual pass to the parks (which includes free parking and park hopper), the cheapest Disney annual pass comes at only $900, you can leverage the 30% off hotels and 20% discount on merchandise, plus other discounts to make up for what you spend on Disney World tickets.

You can choose to do a payment plan (with a down payment though) and only pay month-to-month! So, for a family of 4, that would only cost you $70.28 per month! See where I am going here with more is actually less?! If that was not enough, you get even more savings when you have an annual pass. Just to reiterate,  you get up to 20% off on merchandise and select dining locations, not to mention the already added benefit of free parking and park hopper.

Those are just some of the benefits you receive as an annual passholder. You get so much more! Some of the ‘extra’ things you get are invites to special events (like exclusive previews of new lands, Passholder Playtimes, or even Super Saturdays), exclusive Annual Passholder merchandise, discounts on special events/activities, and even discounts on things you least expect! There are even on occasion small surprises given to passholders like free buttons, free magnets, cutting boards, cups, pins, or anything else you can think of! I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want to be a passholder, but in the end, it truly is well worth the cost. And hey, if you decide to (and are able to) make a trip back to Disney World that same year, your tickets are already paid for! It’s almost like a Buy one, Get One Free!

Tip From the Pros

Wanna know a pro tip for getting a really great deal on tickets? Well, I can tell you but this will only work under certain circumstances. The best possible tip is to go offseason, on weekdays not a weekend, and not during special event nights. In order to successfully accomplish this, you need to be very flexible in the dates you plan on going to Disney. Secondly, you need to be someone who is very attentive to details. Doing something like this involves lots of planning, lots of details, and lots of research.

You need to look at crowd calendars, compare prices for various dates, and find out when it is least busy. Then, once you know this information, you can plan your trip on a specific weekday. If, when, and only if you are able to do this, you should be able to save quite a bit of money. Another perk about this is that since you planned to go to the parks during less crowded times, you can now freely get on the rides of your choosing with shorter wait times. It is a win-win where you get both lower prices and lower crowds. It just involves all that work, but if you put the work in it will all be well worth it!

You Can Get Cheap Disney Tickets Now!

In the end, you can get cheap Disney park tickets NOW! If you follow this advice, you will be, no you should be, able to acquire cheap Disney tickets. Sometimes you just have to do a little digging to find what you need. I mean, if a pirate didn’t do any digging, he would never find the buried treasure.

That is exactly how it is with getting cheap Disney tickets. If you simply have a little ‘faith, trust, and a bit of pixie dust’, getting cheap Disney park tickets are not that hard to come by. There are all sorts of ways to getting them. It may be a bit rough at first trying to find just the right deal, but once you do finally find something, you will not regret it! Getting cheap Disney park tickets will save you tons of money in the long run especially if you are on a tight budget. Even though your vacation may still be expensive, you can at least smile a bit better knowing that your vacation is not as expensive as it could be thanks to getting cheap Disney tickets! If you have any ideas or ways you can save money on Disney tickets that you have used in the past or present that I did not list here, let me know down in comments! I would love to hear all about them!
