Best Bag for Disney World

Planning a Disney World vacation can mean trying to make sure everything is perfect, down to what you carry your things in. So when you look for the best bag for Disney World, what comes up? I’ve done a ton of research for you and have compiled the list below. Let me know what you think int he comments below!

What Can You Bring into Disney World

Before you head off on your Disney World trip, there’s one thing you might not have considered: what you’ll need day today while you explore the parks. It’s good to check what you are allowed to bring in, and what you should bring with you.

Going into the parks, your bags will be searched, so be prepared for that. It’s easier and faster if you are ready, with an already opened bag, and all the pockets unzippered.

Best bag for disney world

Walt Disney World has similar rules to other theme parks, and the prohibited items are what you’d expect, like weapons, fireworks, flammable objects, alcohol and illegal drugs, drones, scooters, and similar items. A full list is on the official website here

There are a few new rules for 2019 regarding strollers. In May 2019, a new rule went into effect that states that stroller wagons, and strollers larger than 31” (79 cm) wide and 52” (132 cm) long are not allowed.

I have a post all about the best strollers to bring to Walt Disney World if you want to take a look! You can’t have selfie sticks, folding chairs, or any masks and costumes unless you are under fourteen. Another rule to remember is that for Animal Kingdom, all straws, except for paper straws, and balloons are not allowed, as they are harmful to the animals.

There are surprisingly a lot of things you are allowed to bring into the parks at Disney World. Having the best bag for Disney World means considering what you are putting in it. First things first, I definitely recommend bringing your own snacks with you. You will get hungry after running around all day in the heat, and it will save you a lot of money. A few other things you should definitely pack: your wallet (though don’t pack more money than you need), sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a reusable water bottle, bandaids, and your phone. There are plenty of other things you might consider bringing with you into the parks, but those are the basics you should always have on hand! Tripsavvy has a great list of what to include in your daypack, including great links for items.

Best Bag for Disney Parks

Now we can get to the main reason for this article. What is the best bag for Disney World? While ultimately that depends on what you are using it for. For park days, you want a lightweight bag that still has space for all the necessities. Amazon has plenty of great options for you, at great prices!

Walt Disney World lets you bring your bags on all the rides, so that’s one thing you don’t have to worry about. While some people like to try to bring as little as they can when they go places so they have less to carry, that can be an issue in some situations.

You don’t know how many people leave their sunglasses and phones in the inside pockets of rides and forget them. It’s a lot better when you know exactly where they are, tucked away in your backpack.

I’m a huge supporter of bringing a bag to the parks. Also, definitely save some room in there. If you buy something during the day (which let’s be real, you probably will), it’s a great feeling when you know that you can just put it in your day bag and not have to carry anything extra around the whole day.

Below are a few great options available for daypacks that are affordable, lightweight, and have plenty of room. For my personal favorite backpack for the parks, check out my article here!

The above option is under twenty dollars, and is spacious, waterproof, and foldable! It can fold into a small bag (8 x 9 inches), which is a great bonus for packing it in your travel bag.

The bag has comfortable straps for carrying it around all day in the park and even has a two-year refund if it breaks down in that period.

This option is pretty similar to the first, though it has a little less storage room, which matches the slightly lower price. It also has some extra color options, if that is a factor in your decision. Like the first bag, it folds into a small pack, is waterproof and tear-resistant, and super lightweight. A great option when looking for the best bag for Disney World park trips.

This backpack is at a lower price than the other two, has as much space as the first, and has a lot of extra pockets for storage. I personally love the color options here, with quite a few interesting color combos to choose from. Another great backpack to consider!

Best Bag for Disney World – Getting There

Of course, before you even get to the parks, you have to get to wherever you are staying, packed with all you need for your vacation! Whether you are staying for four days or two weeks, you need to be able to fit some outfits, shoes, pajamas, and everything you need in a bag suited for your needs.

If you need help packing for your trip, I have a post on the ultimate Disney packing list you can check out!

There are a lot of great options for bags to use during travel. Some people pack a suitcase and check their luggage, while others use duffels or backpacks to fit everything. Here are a few options for everyone, no matter how you prefer to travel!

This weekender bag is great for a short trip. It’s stylish and well-designed, and can also serve as your hand luggage along with a roller carry-on. It has a back sleeve that allows it to slide perfectly over the handle. This is perfect if you don’t have to pack too much, and it’s easy to carry.

I love bags like these, with multiple ways to carry for every time you get sore or tired of carrying it consistently, which is sure to happen. I’ve used regular duffle bags a lot in the past, and my shoulders get so tired.

Having the option to shift the bag to wear as a backpack is an amazing convenience, and this bag also has the option to work as a tote bag. This is three bags in one, so if you are looking for the best bag for Disney World, this might be it!

Similar to the first option here, this is a great bag for short trips or as hand luggage, reasonably priced with so many designs to choose from. The shoulder strap is adjustable and removable, and this bag also has the space to slide the luggage handle through so the tote rests on top.

I’ve been looking for a good small roller luggage option for a while now, and Wrangler on Amazon has a really great option here. The bag is the small 20-inch size, with a hard casing. It offers plenty of extra features, like the easy to move, spinning wheels, a usb port (power bank not included) on the back that leads into a phone holder, which can also be converted into a cup holder. What more could you ask for?

This option is pretty much the same price as the one above, and a little bigger, at 22 inches. It has more room but still works perfectly as a carry-on, though it doesn’t offer all those extra features like the previous option. But sometimes, simple is better.

Crossbody Bags for Disney

Having been to Disney a lot, I can confidently say that in some cases, the best bag for Disney World day to day travel is a crossbody bag. It’s smaller, yet still fits the essentials, and can be more comfortable. Also, it’s position on your hip is safer than having a bag on your back, as you can always see it situated at the front of your body. This is a great benefit for people more concerned with stealing while they travel.

When you don’t need a lot, an option like this is perfect. It can fit a wallet, cell phone, sunglasses, and a few other things, and is anti-theft designed. The straps and mesh panels on the body of the bag are strong and made slash-resistant, so no one can cut it off and steal it. Along with that, it is RFID blocking.

This bag is similar to the one above, with a different, slightly larger shape that can fit a Mini iPad. It also has RFID blocking card slots and passport pockets and is made from water and stain-resistant nylon. This is a sleek, minimalist option, and I really love that it has so many card pockets inside. That means you can ditch the wallet and put everything you need there for convenience and ease.

One of my favorite bags on this list is this sling crossbody bag. It’s lightweight and compact and can be worn on the front or the back of the body. It has so many pockets at all different angles, designed for your phones, wallets, cards, and all other days to day items.

I really love the pocket at the top for your cell phone, with a strap above to string your headphones through so they don’t get tangled or caught on anything. This might not only be the best bag for Disney World, but also for everyday use!

Best Diaper Bag for Disney

If you are traveling to Disney World with young children, you’ve probably already started looking into what is the best diaper bag for your vacation. It’s your go-to bag with everything you and your children need throughout the day, so it needs to have lots of room and compartments, be built well, and comfortable to carry.

Because there are so many choices out there, I could go into more detail, but I’m just listing a couple of great options to consider. If you’d like a more in-depth breakdown of diaper bag options, Disney by Age has a great article here!

This diaper bag backpack is a super affordable option that is extremely well-designed for a parent’s needs. The bag opens wide at the top, has an insulated front pocket for bottles and snacks, and a convenient pocket at the back for the items you need easy access to.

There are also pockets on each side, and you can put a power bank inside that connects to a USB port on the outside. Plug in a charging cord and you’re good to go! This bag also keeps your comfort in mind, with adjustable straps made with soft lining, and heavy-duty materials.

Another great choice is this convertible diaper bag. You can wear it three ways: as a tote bag, crossbody bag, and a backpack. It also easily attaches to a stroller’s handlebar, adding more ease and convenience to use. The inside of the bag has plenty of pockets for clothes, diapers, and anything you might need, as well as two insulated pockets. On the front of the bag is also a fold-out waterproof changing pad that’s super easy to clean!

There are a lot of great options for bags for a Disney World trip, and ultimately, it is entirely dependent on you and what you need for your trip and your personal situation. Whether it’s a short or long trip, you’re visiting alone, with one other person, or with a large family, or even what time of year you’re coming, all of that factors into what you decide to bring with you. Whatever is your best bag for Disney World, I hope this post at least helped guide you in the right direction!

These are all great looking bags. I especially like the backpacks. As a mom, I appreciate having my hands free to wrangle the kiddos.

Exceptional post with the information for the new guests. Love your detailed approach, as families need as much info as they can get before they discover they miss or could have/should have done something prior to the visit.

When we do amusement parks, we typically opt for waterproof backpacks. I think it is much easier to evenly distribute the weight.

Great options! I usually wear a backpack that will hold a water bottle or two, and try not to weigh it down too much.

These are pretty good recommendations. I guess you don’t want to over pack on a trip like this. I would prefer bag packs actually.

I usually take a Vera Bradley backpack when I go to Disney World, but on my last trip when I was tired of carrying it, my husband and son weren’t willing to carry it because it was too girly. I may need to grab a lightweight black or grey backpack for our next trip so more people are willing to carry the load! 🙂

The backpacks are awesome. I love that you can fold them up into compact sizes for easy storage too. The cross body bag is cool. Perfect not only for Disney trips but for everyday walks in the park with my grandson.
